Welcome back to my video blog where I'll be talking today about why now is a great time to market and sell your home in northern Idaho.
2013 proved to be the best year since 2005, and also the 2nd best year in the history of northern Idaho. 2,800 homes were sold this year as opposed to 2,200 last year.
We trail the California market by about 18 months, and the last year and a half they've been red-hot. I foresee them having a huge positive impact on our market. Also, the Seattle market has seen a surge recently, and I'm expecting some retirees from there to move into our area.
Currently we're seeing low inventory and less short sales. This makes for a great time to put your home on the market! Every spring and summer we see 5-6 times the amount of listings as compared to the winter months. However, we do not get 5-6 times the buyers every spring and summer. This means that you need to stay ahead of the competition, so it just makes a lot more sense to get going right now rather than in a saturated spring/summer market.
